Looking for a few ideas as to how to put on a quality interactive museum display? You might want to take a look at the British Museum and see how they get things done, given new research revealing that the attraction has just been named as the best-rated of its kind here in the UK.

The TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards also ranks the museum as the second best in Europe, after best in the world the Musee d’Orsay.

Located in the middle of London, the British Museum’s collection of art and antiquities spans more than two million years of human existence… and it beat out the likes of the National Gallery, the V&A, the Natural History Museum, the National Museum of Scotland, the Churchill War Rooms, Titanic Belfast, the National Railway Museum, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, and the Riverside Museum of Transport and Travel.

Spokeswoman for the British Museum Hannah Boulton said: “This is a wonderful honour, we are delighted that the British Museum has been named the UK Museum of the year in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards. We welcome many millions from across the globe each year to experience the Museum’s world collection, to get this affirmation direct from visitors is especially pleasing.”

As good news as this undoubtedly is, you should also take note of previous Visit England research showing that museums, art galleries and leisure and theme parks all saw visitor numbers drop last year – so now’s the time to really review what you and your business is doing to encourage more people through the front door.
